Involvement for schools

Sponsorship of a child brings benefits to school children of any age:
- Sponsorship can tie in with studies about India providing additional interest and study material for students of geography, psychology, social studies or economics.
- Children and young people learn first-hand about life in third world countries.
- Increased awareness of other cultures and socio-economic structures broadens horizons.
- Individual social development is encouraged through personal interaction with the sponsored child.
- Students gain a real feeling of social responsibility by making such an impact on a child's life.

IPER ask that sponsorship continues for as long as period as possible, and hence schools and colleges may want to encourage students to do their own fund-raising. Some students may want to contribute from their own pocket money - just 100 students contributing £1 per year will pay for one child's sponsorship.
